Rush has it all wrong on business scofflaws
Ald. Bobby Rush (134 tickets) is too modest - and way off base -in his complaint that it is "grossly unfair" for the city to "houndthe little guy" while letting corporate scofflaws off the hook forparking tickets.
Aldermen do not exactly qualify for sympathy as "the little guy"in this town. And scofflaw Rush (2nd), who now has set up a paymentplan to settle some of his own tickets, has got the facts all out ofwhack when it comes to other parking offenders.

'ORATORIO' LIKE STAINED GLASS ON STAGE.(Capital Region)
ALBANY - When the curtain went up on Nacre's performance of Charles Weidman's "Christmas Oratorio" Saturday afternoon at The Egg, projections of stained-glass windows formed a backdrop for the dancers. The visual was apt, not only because of the religious nature of the 1961 work, but also because the "Oratorio," set to music by J.S. Bach, is a bit like an animated stained-glass window itself--a lovely arrangement of brightly colored figures whose heartfelt dancing at times seemed almost to radiate light.

Valentine's Day couldn't come at a better time of year: The festive glow of the holiday season has faded, and many long, gray days must be endured before the first bright buds of spring appear.
