Valentine's Day couldn't come at a better time of year: The festive glow of the holiday season has faded, and many long, gray days must be endured before the first bright buds of spring appear. It's no wonder, then, that come mid-February, even the most unsentimental among us welcome those cheerful valentine cards and cozy, candlelit dinners.
Celebrating Valentine's Day doesn't necessarily mean spending time with a sweetheart sharing it with friends and loved ones can be just as meaningful. And it certainly doesn't require spending a lot of money. There are many simple, unique ways to spread the warm spirit of the day. I've included some of my favorite suggestions below.
